Brush Fire Breaks Out in Trabuco Canyon, Evacuation Warnings Issued

Firefighters Battle Blaze, Residents Evacuated

A brush fire broke out in Trabuco Canyon on Monday afternoon, prompting evacuation warnings for nearby residents. The fire, dubbed the "Trabuco Fire," started around 2:30 p.m. near Trabuco Creek Road and quickly spread, fanned by strong winds. As of Monday evening, the fire had burned approximately 500 acres and was 0% contained.

Firefighters from multiple agencies are on scene battling the blaze, using air tankers and water-dropping helicopters to slow its spread. Ground crews are also working to establish containment lines.

Evacuations Ordered, Residents Alerted

Evacuation warnings have been issued for residents in the following areas:

  • Trabuco Canyon
  • Williams Canyon
  • Modjeska Canyon

Residents in these areas are advised to evacuate immediately and follow the instructions of local authorities. An evacuation center has been established at the Trabuco Hills Community Center.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
