Design Cues Borrowed from Past Iterations
In a continuous effort to reinterpret Michael Jordan's iconic inaugural silhouette, Jordan Brand has teamed up with renowned streetwear label Union to release a new limited-edition Air Jordan 1. This collaborative project takes design cues from various past iterations of the Air Jordan 1, resulting in a unique and eye-catching sneaker.
The Union x Air Jordan 1 features a premium leather upper with a patchwork construction, reminiscent of the "What the Dunk?" release from 2007. The lateral side of the shoe showcases the signature "Swoosh" logo in black, while the medial side features a debossed "UN/LA" tag, referencing the collaborative nature of the project. The ankle collar is adorned with a quilted mesh lining, providing both comfort and a stylish touch.
Additional details include a translucent outsole, a hidden stash pocket in the tongue, and a custom lace lock with branding from both Jordan Brand and Union. The sneaker is packaged in a special edition box that features a design inspired by the iconic "Wings" logo.
The Union x Air Jordan 1 is set to release on October 28th, 2022, at select Jordan Brand retailers and online. The retail price is expected to be $180 USD.
